9:47 pm - New to group and a question

Hello everyone.

I am new to the group, long time fan of Rice books, but very new to the band Lestat.

I am an author (Embracing the Darkness; Understanding dark Subcultures) and at the moment writing Allure of the Vampire Our Sexual Attraction to the Undead. This pertains to the group as i am writing a chapter on how the rock star/sex attraction meets vampires allplies, and I cite this band. I'm curious though how the fans here think so here goes.

What attracted you to vampires originally? Why do you find them appealing or erotic? And what about this band caries over so well with Ann Rices work?

Write me at corvisnocturnum@yahoo.com and use in the subject line, "Why vampires"

Thank you so much.

I made a Stuart Townsend mood icon theme for my LJ. I was extremely bored and I have just changed the layout. I like it. I like it a lot.

1:41 pm - Lestat

Anybody think a new Lestat book is going to come out? They haven't been quite as good since QOTD but they are a good read. Anybody know where you can get Jonatan Davis's version of the QOTD songs? I did a bunch of stuff and got them on a CD but they were too quiet.

Hey I'm a newbie.

Name: Chelsea
age: 15
location: New York (bleh)
how long have I been reading VC: About a year and a half
bands: The Disitllers, HIM, Cradle of Filth, Bella Morte, The Devotchkas, My Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold, AFI

I do like the QOTD movie for what it was. The book was better in my eyes, but you know. Where I live, no one reads Anne Rice or anything thats not about cars. I am stuck in a town where rap is the only cool thing.

12:30 pm - Hello

Hey, I'm Gary. I'm 15 years old. I starting reading the Anne Rice two years ago. I've finished most of the Vampire Chronicles and some of her others. I was at my friend's house one night and we watched the Queen Of The Damned that he rented. I loved it but didn't quite understand it until I read the books. I watched it again a year later. I love the music written for the movie. Forsaken, System, Not Meant For Me, Slept So Long, and Redeemer. Redeemer is okay but I love the rest of them. I even rigged up my stereo and a bunch of other things to get the movie versions on a CD. Its pretty quiet but I'm working on it. I like the soundtrack CD okay, but the movie versions were so much better. I'm trying right now to start a band to play music like that band. Vampiric Rock is the best!

11:55 am - Newbe am I!

My name is Bobbi... but the better half of society will live another day longer if they call me Chaenz. I love the band, Lestat, from the movie, "Queen of the Damned". That was my first exposure to Anne Rice's works. I have been told that it's a bit off from the book... and they directors kinda squished "The Vampire, Lestat" and "Queen of the Damned" books together in the mmovie. I really enjoyed the way vampires were protrayed in the movie.

At first, I didn't know that there were books that inspired the movie. It took me forever to get ahold of one of the "Vampire Chronocles" installments... and it turned out to be "The Tale of the Body Thief". I lost interest because I didn't have a clue what was going on in the book. I returned it to the library, only two chapters into it.

My boyfriend was the one who encouraged me to try the works again. He is a big fan of the chronicles and was rather excited that I even considered to read them.

I was in a food and drug store when I chanced to pass by "Interview with the Vampire" and "The Vampire, Lestat". I imediately grabbed them from the shelf and purchased them. I have just started "Interview with the Vampire" and cant wait to finish the series. I enjoy Anne's style of writing. The characters are well described.

I am the current owner of the "Queen of the Damned" soundtrack, too. o.~

Love to the vamps,

3:54 am - Thought we could use an update...

I finally saw Interview With the Vampire from beginning to end. I was very impressed. It's more to the book then QOTD. Tom Cruise was excellent as Lestat, very true to character. Compared to Cruise, Stuart Townsend (whom don't get me wrong is gorgeous) makes Lestat look weak. So let me sum it up. I liked it very much....
